6 tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons quick-cooking oats
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 oven roasting bag
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
Preheat oven to 425*F.
Place peeled and sliced apples in a bowl. Sprinkle with brown sugar, 2 tablespoons oats, and nutmeg. Spoon into unbaked pie shell.
In a bowl, mix together sugar, 1/2 oats, flour, and melted butter. Sprinkle over the apple mixture. Place the pie in an oven roasting bag. (Follow instructions on roasting bag.)
Place on a baking sheet and bake for 1 hour. Remove from the bag and cool.
