Hundreds and Thousands Biscuits

60g butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon milk
2/3 cup self raising flour
1/2 cup plain flour
200g pkt hundreds and thousands
extra milk

Cream butter, add sugar gradually, beat until light and fluffy. Add well beaten egg, vanilla and milk. Add self raising flour, mix well. Gradually mix in plain flour until dough is firm enough to handle. Refrigerate at least one hour. Roll out mixture between 2 sheets of baking paper to 5mm, cut into shapes with 5cm cookie cutters. Put on lightly greased trays, brush with milk, sprinkle with hundreds and thousands. It makes it easier if you place the cookie cutters as a guide around edge of biscuit and spooning the hundreds and thousands into the center. Bake in a moderate oven 8 – 10 minutes let to cool on the trays.
