1 kg fresh green beans, trimmed 2 lb
50 ml butter or margarine 1/4 cup
2 red onion, halved & thinly sliced
15 ml balsamic vinegar 1 tbsp
2 ml salt 1/2 tsp
1 ml ground pepper 1/4 tsp
50 ml almonds, sliced & toasted 1/4 cup
Cook beans until tender crisp.
In a large skillet; melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook, stirring frequently, 20 to 25 minutes or until golden. Stir in vinegar, salt and pepper. Add green beans, cover and cook 2 minutes. Sprinkle with almonds and serve.
