Christmas Cocktail

1/2 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup water
2/3 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
2/3 cup fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 large unbeaten egg whites
8 to 10 ice cubes
Maraschino cherries for garnish (optional)

Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Chill.

Place all ingredients, except cherries, into container of electric blender. Blend on high until smooth, about 30 seconds.

Pour into 4 glasses and top with a cherry.

Makes 4 servings.
