Candied Nuts

2 cups brown sugar
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pinch salt
2 quarts walnuts

Mix sugar, milk and margarine in a heavy saucepan; cook to soft ball stage. Add vanilla and salt. Beat until creamy; add walnuts. Mix until all are coated. Spread on foil; separate and cool.
