Sweetened condensed milk, cocoa, and butter are all you need for these Brazilian sweet treats.
makes 20
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
3 tablespoons Dutch-process dark cocoa powder
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Chocolate candy sprinkles
Bring condensed milk, cocoa, and butter to a simmer in a medium saucepan over medium. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer, whisking constantly, until mixture is very thick, glossy, and leaves a distinct trail on bottom of pan when a rubber spatula is dragged through, 5 to 8 minutes.
Transfer chocolate mixture to a shallow bowl; cover using plastic wrap, directly touching mixture to prevent a skin from forming. Let cool completely at room temperature, about 2 hours. Divide cooled chocolate mixture into 20 (1-tablespoon) portions, and roll into balls. Place sprinkles in a shallow bowl, and roll balls into sprinkles.
