1-1/2 gallon (2-No. 10 can) Fruit cocktail, canned
2-1/2 quart (approx) Juice, reserved
1 teaspoon Cinnamon, ground
2 teaspoon Nutmeg, ground
2 cups Sugar, brown
4-1/2 quart Apples(4 lbs), fresh, eating, unpared, diced
2-1/4 quart Oranges(5 lb), fresh, 3/4-inch pieces
Drain fruit cocktail; set aside. Reserve juice. Combine juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar. Simmer 5 minutes. Cover syrup; place in refrigerator to chill. Combine fruit cocktail, apples, and oranges. Pour syrup over fruits; mix lightly. Cover; refrigerate until ready to serve.
