50 ml onion, chopped 1/4 cup
25 ml canola oil 2 tbsp
1 loaf french bread
25 ml olive oil 2 tbsp
25 ml dill, finely chopped 2 tbsp
45 ml monterey jack cheese, slivered 3 tbsp
Place onions, oils and dill in a covered container and let sit for 3 hours at room temperature. Slice bread in half lengthwise. Cover the bottom half with the onion mixture. Cover the top half; sprinkle the cheese over. Place the bread on a cookie sheet and bake in preheated 300 F (150 C) oven for 10 minutes. Slice loaf and serve immediately.
