4 tablespoons shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup sour milk
1 cup bran
1-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1-1/2 cups chopped dates
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pre-heat oven to 425o F.
Add wet to dry.
Pour into muffin pan using paper muffin cups.
Bake at 425o F for 20-25 minutes
