Corn Light Bread

2 cups cornmeal
1 cups flour
1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups buttermilk or sour milk
3 tablespoons oil or bacon drippings

Combine dry ingredients; blend in milk and oil. Spoon into lightly greased 9 x 5 loaf pan. Let stand 10 minutes. Bake at 375F for 35-40 minutes; let cool 5 minutes before removing from pan.
